Description
Create your own cutting garden with Joli Jardin’s flower cultivator, Becca Coleman. In this intimate workshop on Sunday, April 9 from 2:00-4:00PM, Becca will give you tips and pointers for starting your own flowers from seed and teach how you don’t need a lot of space to grow enough flowers to fill vases in your home for the summer!
The workshop costs includes 1 tray, six 6-cell seedling starter trays, quality seed starting soil, and a range of flowers & herb seeds from Johnny Seeds, Floret Farm, and Geoseeds to choose from to plant in your starter trays. We will be offering sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, sweet peas, marigolds, hyacinth beans, basil, honeywort and more. The workshop will go over the steps from the beginning, to the sanitizing of trays, how to fill your trays with a quality seed mix (or creating your own), planting each seed and going over the different needs of seeds for germination, pests to look out for, how to care for your seedling starts, and what stages to plant each type of seed out into your garden! Becca will help answer any questions you may have about starting seeds and include tips for harder to germinate seeds.
Two dates: Saturday, April 1st 12:00-2:00PM (first class tickets here) and Sunday, April 9th 2:00-4:00PM
You may add-on a child’s workshop ticket here for $18. This will include one, 6-cell seedling starter tray.
Becca is one of the owner’s of Joli Jardin Flower Farm. The 23 acre farm was started in 2016 and uses biodiverse and sustainable growing practices. We grow thousands of flowers in our hoophouses and fields and probably grow flowers on less than 2 acres of our property. We have a greenhouse and growroom that we tend to our baby seedlings.
